By organising the Contest and showcasing knitwear designs in fashion shows and exhibitions in Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area), we aim to:
- Enhance the recognition of creative knitwear design
- Attract young talents to join the local knitwear industry
- Promote the development of the knitwear industry in Hong Kong
Young designers who fulfil ALL the below criteria are eligible to enrol on the Contest:
- Place of residence must be Hong Kong, Macau or in any other city in the Greater Bay Area
- Aged 18 to 35 (as of the entry deadline)
- Experienced in knitwear design
- With not exceeding 10 years of working experience in fashion design field
OR Students who are currently studying programmes related to fashion design
Submitted Entry MUST Fulfil ALL the below criteria:
- The entry should Include design sketches of ONLY SIX (6) sets of Knitwear Outfits
- Each set of outfits must have at least 80% of range being knitting
- All design sketches must be in A3 size and full colour
- Design sketches could be prepared by hand drawing or with the aid of computer design apps/software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or others
- Design Description in WORD format which includes the following:
- Theme and source of inspiration for your design collection
- Material selection, number of needles, weave structure, usage of colours
The 10 Finalists voted by the Judging Panel will:
- Showcase their entries of knitwear design collections during fashion shows and exhibitions at International Fashion Events in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area
- Have opportunities to promote and sell their own knitwear designs at shopping malls and online shops
The finalists’ design collections will be evaluated by the Judging Panel in the following four areas:
- Overall Design Appearance
- Creativity
- Knitting Technology Application
- Market Value
The Judging Panel consists of 7 judges who are representatives of the Organiser (Knitwear Innovation and Design Society), industry professionals or award sponsors.

Please follow the below instructions to submit enrolment form (click HERE to download the form or go to HERE to enrol online) and design sketches before the entry deadline.
1. Email the completed Enrolment Form and Download Link of the Design Sketches (in JPG/PNG/PDF format) to contest@hkkids.org with Email Subject of “(Your Full Name) – Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest”.
2. Hong Kong applicants should also send hardcopies of the 6 design sketches (A3 sized and colour-printed) to the below address and mark “(Your Full Name) – Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest” and also your contact telephone number on the envelop.

1. Designs must be genuine, self-produced, never been paraded before. Participants will be disqualified if there is any plagiarism.
2. All submitted entries should fulfil the below criteria:
- The entry should Include design sketches of ONLY SIX (6) sets of Knitwear Outfits
- Each set of outfits must have at least 80% of range being knitting
- All design sketches must be in A3 size and full colour
- Design sketches could be prepared by hand drawing or with the aid of computer design apps/software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or others
- Design Description in WORD format which includes the following:
– Theme and source of inspiration for your design collection
– Material selection, number of needles, weave structure, usage of colours - The file format for uploading to a cloud storage platform should be in JPG / PNG / PDF format
3. All finalists’ knitwear designs must be produced according to the design sketches submitted in the enrolment. The Organiser reserves the right to reject or disqualify the eligibility of any finalist if his/her final production does not match with the original design.
4. All finalists are required to attend the activities related to the Contest, including but not only the fashion show rehearsals and other marketing events.
5. All finalists are required to work with Hong Kong manufacturers to produce six (6) sets of their designed knitwear clothing for showcase at the fashion shows and exhibitions.
6. The Organiser will reserve all rights on the performance and exhibition of the submitted design entries and the corresponding completed knitwear clothings. In addition, the Organiser reserves all copyright of photos and video recordings related to the Contest and all the related activities. The Organiser is entitled to use and generate the photographs and videos in any form without any copyright fees payable to contestants.
7. The Organiser will process and keep all competition products meticulously but is not responsible for any damages or losses.
8. All works and documents submitted will not be returned.
9. The English version of the regulations is for reference only. In case of discrepancies between the provisions of the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
10. The Organiser reserves the right of final decision on any dispute and on the above regulations.
